Pubic Mound Correction
Pubic Mound Correction. Weight changes or changes in hormone levels during menopause can lead to fatty deposits around the pubic mound. This increase is considered very disturbing by many women. Mostly this increase of fat tissue can be corrected by a purposeful extraction. If there is too much skin in this area, the skin can be tightened and restored to a harmonic form. This is done by a small incision in the pubic hair region.
These procedures can almost always be performed on an outpatient basis under local anaesthesia. In general, such procedures take 1-2 hours. Mostly, self dissolving stitches will be used. If not, the stitches can be removed after about 10 days. Showering is possible after 1-2 days. Sports or sexual activity should be performed only after the correction has completely healed (about 3-4 weeks).
For every operation:
Do not take blood thinning drugs such as aspirin, ASS, Plavix, Warfarin etc, 14 days before the elective surgery!
