Sweat Treatment

Sweat Treatment. Increased and excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) especially in the armpits, but also on the hands and inner feet is a big problem for those people affected by it. A good and lasting solution to sweating is the method of combined suction and curettage of the sweat glands and armpits. Here, an almost complete reduction of perspiration and thus normalisation of sweating can be achieved. It is a reliable, safe and sound procedure for outpatients, which can be carried out under local anaesthesia or light sedation.

This method, used since only recently in just a few centers with special cannulas, is the leading operative procedure against sweat. In relation to other treatment outcomes, the nearly invisible scars are clearly superior.

Before surgery, the sweat secreting areas will be made visible and marked with a special tincture. This is followed by the infiltration of the so-called tumescent fluid. This loosens the tissue and numbs it. This is followed by careful curettage and suction.

Side effects may be some bruising and swelling, temporary numbness or healing discomfor. These are usually short lived.

Excessive sweating in the armpits, palms and soles, can also be stopped selectively with Botulinumtoxin A injections. This blockage of the sweat glands usually lasts for 6-9 months and can be repeated several times.

For every operation:

Do not take blood thinning drugs such as aspirin, ASS, Plavix, Warfarin etc, 14 days before the elective surgery!

Treatment of sweating hands and feet with Botulinumtoxin A injections is also possible.
